You never know what is going to come along and trip you up.
Here’s a short recap of my day:
I’m very excited that it’s a warm sunny day, and apparently so are all of the birds in the neighborhood. So after closing everything up, shutting all the windows and doors I sit down and test all of the systems. Now I’m ready to record. 10 seconds later a dog gets tied up right outside my studio window. So, for the next 30 minutes I get to listen to this little tiny dog bark and yap while I “catch up on other things”. Now the dog is gone, and I can do some recording. About an hour into recording it’s time for the other neighbor to mow their lawn, and to leave the riding lawn mower parked right outside my window for what seems like half the time they are working there.
The funny thing is, these are not things you can actually be mad at people for doing. They’re very common and ordinary things you would expect people to be doing on a Monday morning in the city. It’s just an exercise in patience for all of us who share space.
This is one way we can all change the world, be patient with one another. If you’ve read this, be patient with someone who needs it. You’ll change their world.
